Lūmen Studios

— Opening July 2025

I wasn’t chasing listings or touring properties for months. The idea came suddenly—and clearly: find a space that speaks in light and shape, in stillness and mood. I wasn’t looking for something I could rent or lease, but something I could own—something permanent. I had considered a mountain chapel. I looked at commercial spaces. But then I realized what I needed was a home—one that already felt like art. And I found it: a quiet, light-filled flat just blocks from Main Street in Old Littleton.
Built in 1951, this single-story home channels the cool, effortless energy of a mid-century California flat along the Pacific Coast Highway. It’s calm, grounded, and open—an invitation to slow down, breathe, and create.
At the heart of Lūmen Studios is the sunroom. Stretching the full length of the house, it’s lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, softened by flowing drapes, and opens to a backyard intentionally shaped by the former owner, a landscape architect. As the sun moves, light, ever-changing colors, and shadows drift through the space, turning the room into a living canvas—an ever-changing piece of art painted by nature.
But the sunroom is just the beginning. Lūmen Studios will be a thoughtfully designed creative environment. Four distinct studio spaces will offer a variety of moods and textures. There will be a gear and prop room for seamless transitions, a full kitchen and dining area for breaks or hosting, and a computer nook with a calibrated monitor for reviewing your work on-site. Every corner of the home is being considered—each room designed to support the creative process from start to finish. A spacious backyard shaded by towering, decades-old maple trees provides a rich, natural backdrop for evening shoots.
Lūmen Studios was born from a vision—not just to build a studio, but to transform a home into a living, breathing creative landscape. A space designed with light and intention at its core, where photographers, filmmakers, stylists, and storytellers can gather, prep, shoot, and create. Whether capturing a bridal moment, preparing for a fashion show, shooting an editorial, or recording something deeply personal, this space is meant to hold the beauty of your work.
I’ll be ready to begin hosting sessions in early July. Below are a few images from a recent walkthrough during closing. The woman pictured to the left is the realtor who first opened the door for me—hers is the first of many portraits that will be made here.
Looking forward to welcoming you soon!
